Cadillac is adding four new sedans to its lineup for the 2020 model year.

Like Acura, Cadillac has been struggling to define itself in the premium vehicle market, especially when it comes to sedans. And, also like the luxury arm of Honda, the General Motors brand is taking a tiered approach to future sedan design.

It has dropped the ATS and CTS sedans in favor of new models, dubbed the CT4 and CT5. In addition to more pedestrian variants of these new models, Cadillac will be offering the CT4-V and CT5-V, which are sport-tuned, in the same vein as the previous ATS-V and CTS-V.

The 2020 Cadillac CT5 is an all-new midsize sedan. Information from Cadillac on the fastback model touts the car’s refined ride and driver-centric interior. The Detroit-based automaker has confirmed that there will be 2020 Cadillac CT5 Luxury, 2020 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury, and 2020 Cadillac CT5 Sport models.

The rear-wheel drive CT5 is powered by a standard twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Cadillac’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 power plant is available on Premium Luxury and Sport models.

A 10-speed automatic transmission, automatic start/stop engine technology and cylinder deactivation are standard in both power plants. All models will have their engine sounds tuned differently. All-wheel drive is available.

The car will have all LED exterior lighting. Fascia elements vary by trim with Sport models getting dark accents, a spoiler, and standard 19-inch wheels.

The CT5’s cabin is filled with high-tech features. Cadillac is equipping each CT5 with a 10-inch infotainment touch screen, Near Field Communication, and a rotary controller.

The company’s Super Cruise technology will be available in calendar year 2020 on select models.

A Platinum package will be available on Premium Luxury and Sport models. It includes a Sedona/Jet Black motif with Opus semi-aniline leather seats in Sedona Sauvage. The seats have finely piped edging and decorative chevron accents. The 18-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats feature front, heated, ventilated, and lumbar massaging functionality. There are also leather-trimmed armrests and center console, carbon fiber trim, a thicker steering wheel with magnesium paddle shifters, and alloy pedals.

It will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 power plant that is rated to achieve 355 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The power plant is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Cadillac CT4

Cadillac is billing the CT4 as easily customizable – a strategy that has given Chevrolet’s truck lineup loyal customers. The CT4 will get standard rear-wheel drive but is available in the buyer’s choice of 11 exterior paint color and eight interior color choices, a variety of material and trim options, and the option of all-wheel drive.

Every trim comes standard with LED headlamps, tail lamps, and vertical lights at all four corners.

The CT4 comes powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that schedules 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can choose between driving in Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice and Track, or My Mode drive modes.

Cadillac is giving the CT4 an impressive list of standard features including keyless entry, push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-display driver information center, HD rearview camera, LED interior lighting with stealth mode, dual-zone automatic climate control with a humidity sensor, dust filter, rear-seat vents, a premium audio system, active noise cancellation. SuperCruise and a heated steering wheel are available.

Buyers will be able to get the CT4 in Luxury, Sport, and Premium Luxury models.
