How fast do you need your SUV to go? Powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, the 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo has quicker acceleration and a higher top track speed than the outgoing generation model.

The subcompact SUV’s power plant produces 434 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, which gets the SUV from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. If that’s not fast enough for you, you can add the available Sport Chrono package to your new Macan Turbo and drop the time to 4.1 seconds.

Thanks to the that engine, the same as in the Cayenne and Pamnamera, it now has a top track speed of 167 mph, a 3 mph upgrade.

Equally as important as getting going is stopping. The new Macan Turbo comes standard with Porsche Surface Coated Brakes that are designed to improve stopping power over the previous-generation Macan’s brakes. The SUV’s rotors are coated in a layer of tungsten carbide, which reduces brake dust by up to 90 percent and provides a sharper braking response.

With all that power, it’s expected that the Macan will sound and look good. Porsche is giving each Macan Turbo a standard Sport Exhaust system and 20-inch wheels. The Macan Turbo also has standard Sport Design side skirts and exterior mirrors, dual strip LED fog lights, and a fixed rear spoiler.

The new, faster 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo will arrive at U.S. dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2019. It has a starting MSRP Of $83,600 and comes with $1,350 in processing, delivery, and handling fees.
