There’s a new Nissan Pathfinder on the horizon. The fifth generation of the model is expected to debut next week. Ahead of the debut, the Japan-based automaker has released a teaser video showing a good portion of the redesigned three-row SUV.
The video starts by showcasing the new Nissan logo followed by large “Pathfinder” script that appears to be located on the rear of the SUV. The Pathfinder moves from the water to the mud to snow, giving an indication of the vehicle’s all-terrain capabilities, before showing off narrow, wide set headlights at the corners of the front of the vehicle.
Next, the full back of the vehicle is shown off as it traverses a dirt trail. This Pathfinder appears boxier and beefier than its predecessor, with dark pillars and what is possibly a darkened roof.
The All-New 2022 Nissan Pathfinder
The Pathfinder was last updated for the 2017 model year, given a beefier appearance. From the looks of things, Nissan has taken that a step further with the new model. giving it a more square appearance in line with how the Armada and Rogue look.
The Pathfinder is the fourth redesigned or refreshed SUV that Nissan has introduced in the last year. The refreshed Nissan Kicks started off things in early 2020. The all-electric Nissan Ariya SUV and two-row Rogue were next with a complete redesign. Then the Armada debuted in late 2020. Nissan has the Rogue Sport/Qashqai redesign up next. It’s already been spotted testing.
Nissan will also introduce a new Z car and the next-gen Frontier midsize pickup truck in the coming year as part of its robust rollout of cars of the future.
The company has also recently added a roster of driver assistance and safety technologies as a part of the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite to a number of current models.
The fifth-gen Pathfinder will debut on February 4.
