The Dodge Challenger is on its way out, and to celebrate, the automaker is releasing a series of special edition “Last Call” models. The series will have seven cars, and Dodge just announced the first. The Dodge Challenger Shakedown will be a limited-run car based on the R/T Scat Pack trim. Five more cars will be announced by September 21, unveiling the last at the SEMA 2022 show in Las Vegas.

Dodge will only make 1,000 cars for the 2023 model year, split down the middle between the R/T Scat Pack and R/T Scat Pack Widebody. On top of the car’s standard equipment, the special edition model gets options packages, including the Plus Group, Technology Group, and Dynamics Package. The options packages bring features such as a heated steering wheel, Alcantara and Nappa leather upholstery, navigation, and more.

The Shakedown gets a 6.4-liter V8 making 485 horsepower. In the standard Scat Pack, it’s paired with a six-speed manual transmission by default, but Dodge offers an eight-speed automatic. Though it’s far off the Hellcat’s massive power, the Scat Pack still manages a 0-60 mph time in the low four-second range.

Features exclusive to the Dodge Challenger Shakedown include red “392” graphics, a Mopar shaker intake, unique 20-inch wheels, red seatbelts, and Shakedown graphics. Dodge will also revive three heritage colors for 2023, including B5 Blue, Plum Crazy Purple, and Sublime Green. Destroyer Grey will also return for 2023. Since it’s the Challenger and Charger’s last year on sale, every car gets a “Last Call” badge under the hood.
