Ford enthusiasts from across Europe lined up in Belgium to attempt to break a world record.

It’s quickly becoming a game of one-upmanship for Ford Mustang lovers all over the world. A recent parade at Ford’s Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium attracted 1,326 vintage and modern Mustangs resulting in a new world record for the most Ford Mustang sport cars in a single parade.

The previous record of 960 vehicles participating in a similar parade was set in Toluca, Mexico in December 2017.

To set the record, the Mustangs in Belgium were driven in an uninterrupted convoy with no more than 20 meters between each car.

Vehicles and drivers also participated in a special choreography to celebrate Mustang’s 55th anniversary this year.

Video of the event, including a fly-over by the Mustang’s namesake, the P-51 Mustang, is a must-see for any Ford enthusiast.

In 2018, the Ford Mustang was named the world’s best-selling sports coupe for the fourth year in a row. Ford sells more Mustangs in Belgium than in any other European country.

Despite being traditionally considered an American muscle car, Ford has a large following in Europe. A few years ago, Ford documented the story of First Mustang Club of Germany president Ralf Wurm, who bought his first Mustang 30 years ago at the age of 18. Take a peek.
