The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance attracts thousands of visitors each year.

The annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is seen as one of the premier motoring events in the world. This year, the auto elite will not have their usual opportunity to ogle each other’s million dollar lust-worthy collectors items as the organizing body has cancelled the event in reposes to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event had been scheduled for August 16, 2020. This was to be the 70th anniversary year of the heralded event, which takes place in and around the Pebble Beach, California area in conjunction with a number of other events including in Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Carmel Valley.

The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering that was to take place April 13 and 17 in the region, has already been cancelled.
Along with Pebble Beach, the two events traditionally are the hallmark events of the Pebble Beach weekend and serve as a platform for automakers to debut their new products.

Infiniti has hosted a number of vehicle introductions and showcases during Pebble and The Quail in the past. They are one of the companies that was to debut a new product at the New York International Auto Show, which was also cancelled this year, and was likely to have had a model revealed at the Concours-surrounding events. The premium automaker now has two vehicles in the queue that will need to find other forums for unveiling.

Other automakers like Rolls-Royce use the event to connect with the elite client base. In the past Rolls-Royce has debuted special editions at the event and has hosted parties for current and potential clients.

The next edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is scheduled for August 15, 2021. It will be the 70th anniversary event.
