Bentley and Breitling have partnered together for 17 years. Though the typical anniversary gift is furniture, the two companies are celebrating this year with the release of the new Chronomat watch, Chronomat BO1 42 Bentley.
Designed for discerning customers who don’t shy away from sport, the new take on the traditional Breitling Chronomat. It features a 42-millimeter stainless steel case with a green dial and black contrasting chronograph counters. The watch is presented on a steel Rouleaux bracelet with a butterfly clasp. It features a “Bentley” engraving round the transparent sapphire caseback.
It has unique features. The signature rotating bezel is highlighted by rider tabs, which not only protect the crystal but make the manipulation of the bezel easier. The rider tabs at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock are interchangeable, so the wearer can use them either for a “count up” or “count down” function.
The latest editions of the Chronomat signal a path forward for the design of the watch – one that is wearable to the beach and then transfers easily to to night out on the town.
Breitling has designed the watches to be powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, an in-house mechanical movement that has a 70-hour power reserve.
The original Chronomat launched in 1983 in celebration of Breitling’s centenary, marking the return of the mechanical chronograph.
Like all Breitling watches, the Chronomats are COSC- certified chronometers, an independent confirmation of their precision. All of the models are water-resistant to 20 bar (200 metres).
In the U.S., the watch sells for $8,100.
