New Cadillac V-Series vehicles will be revealed February 1.

The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing finally have a debut date – February 1. The two new V-Series models will represent the pinnacle of on-road performance from the Cadillac brand when they hit the market later this year.

A preview of the models will occur two days earlier, on January 29, during the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The company’s cars will play a starring role in two Action Express teams’ quests for victory. The first team will include reigning NASCAR champion Chase Elliot, Brazilian races Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani, and British racer Mike Conway in the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R. The second Caddie the team will field will be driven by multi-time NASCAR champ Jimmie Johnson, French IndyCar champion Simon Pagenaud, former F1 racer Kamui Kobayashi, and Audi factory driver Mike Rockenfeller.

Cadillac has slowly been rolling out teasers for the cars, which are based on the CT4 and CT5 sedans. First were pictures of camouflaged versions of the vehicles testing at Virginia International Raceway. Then came word that the cars will have a new steering wheel designed with performance and ergonomics in mind. They also will have V-Mode, a Performance Traction Management system, and a specially tuned chassis, specific vehicle control technologies, and unique engines.

We know now know that Cadillac CT-5 Blackwing will feature racing-inspired seats. According to the automaker, “The carbon fiber seat back will feature a precision book-matched design and laser-etched V-Series logo. The seats will also include other customer-centric innovations and features that will be announced at a later date.”

The two cars will be the only General Motors products to offer magnesium wheels for the foreseeable future.

Cadillac’s Blackwings will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. The gearbox will be just one of the 3D-printed parts inside the car.
