The Cadillac Lyriq will soon be a public part of the General Motors family. The model’s debut was originally set for April but was postponed due to COVID-19.
Along with marking August 6 as the new reveal date, Cadillac has let slip a few previously unknown details about the model.

The SUV in the video features strong design character lines and all-silver Cadillac side badging, which is slightly different than the face of the model’s styling (which is already previewed on Cadillac.com – see below).
Its interior is shown with an infotainment and driver’s information screen that looks suspiciously like the curved OLED unit in the 2021 Escalade. Whether or not it is the same 38-inch model as what’s in that SUV is TBD.
The driver’s information screen is fully digital and displays safety technology information on it including nighttime animal detection courtesy of camera functionality that brightens up the looks of your surroundings compared to what the human eye sees.
Based on what is on that screen in the video, it’s apparent that the model will have automatic climate control, navigation, audio, phone call (likely Bluetooth), and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot. It looks like it has pinch-to-zoom functionality.
The new Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV was originally teased ahead of its previously scheduled April 2 debut, which was pushed back due to COVID-10.

Further, there are doors with a unique inner inlays and a power-adjustable (at least) eight-way driver’s seat.
The SUV sports an AKG audio system with the ability for the driver to adjust the sound mode (front and rear) depending on their preference between stereo or surround acoustics.
We also know that the SUV will have Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.
The biggest thing we don’t know is the vehicle’s all-electric range and for now that bit is still being kept secret.
The Lyriq is built on the new General Motors electric vehicle platform. The platform is capable of working with front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive vehicles.
You can find out more about the model following its reveal on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 7 p.m. ET.
