Sold! Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in Arizona got off to an expensive start off with the sound of the hammer closing on a bid for the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Sold for $430,000.
The full hammer price for the CT4-V Blackwing VIN 001 and the CT5-V Blackwing VIN 001 goes to Black Ambition, a PolicyLink nonprofit initiative launched by Pharrell Williams to help bridge the racial wealth and equity gap. Barrett-Jackson waived the fees and commissions typically associated with their collector car auctions.
The high bidders also received tickets to an exclusive driving experience at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Nevada as well as tickets to an upcoming IMSA race.
“Everyone at Cadillac and GM is proud of the results and what the sale of these new CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing models will mean for others through Black Ambition,” said Melissa Grady, Cadillac chief marketing officer. “We are proud to support this nonprofit initiative to help reduce barriers, improve access to capital and provide mentorship to up-and-coming entrepreneurs.”
The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (Lot #3002) and CT4-V Blackwing (Lot #3001) were introduced earlier this year. They represent the pinnacle of performance for the Cadillac brand and will be made in limited edition quantities with a premium price tag.
The first CT5-V Blackwing off the line features a twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 under the hood. It reaches 668 horsepower and has a zero to 60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. Cadillac has given this model a six-speed manual transmission – the last planned manual transmission for General Motors.
Its little brother, the CT4-V Blackwing, has a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 that is capable of producing 472 horsepower and getting from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
