With optimized throttle response and a whopping 7655 bhp, the McLaren 765LT is the latest member of the McLaren Super Series family. It the newest iteration of the Longtail MacLarens and represents the most dynamic and engaging LT model McLaren has offered to date.

The new model builds on the successes of the McLaren 720S.
The British automaker has given the model advanced carbon fiber technologies and bespoke carbon fiber LT body panels. It weighs 176 pounds less than the 720S.

Its Super Series chassis has been tuned to be more engaging and the drive dynamics updated with hardware and software affiances. The car rides 5 mm lower in the front than the 720S and its front track is 6 mm wider. The springs are lighter weight in this model and roll stiffness has increased.

An extended front splitter and elevated active rear wing keep the car grounded, delivering 25 percent greater ground force than in the 720S. The wing works to assist the car’s braking, allowing for softer brakes and better street driving performance – they’re 60 percent stronger than traditional carbon ceramic discs and have four times the thermal conductivity. McLaren has employed Formula 1-inspired integrated caliper cooling in the model.

McLaren has forged a new 10-spke Ultra-Lightweight alloy wheel for the model that matches with titanium wheel bolts, and bespoke Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. The weight savings for the wheels versus shoe 720S’s is 48.5 pounds.

Buyers get to choose from 13 available paint jobs.

It has a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine under the hood that achieves 755 bhp and 590 pound-feet of torque. The seven-speed sequential shift gearbox is paired with the engine. Drivers can choose from Comfort, Sport, or Track drive modes.

McLaren claims the car can get to 60 seconds from a standstill in 2.7 seconds. To go from zero to 124 mpg it takes just 7.2 seconds.

McLaren has equipped the car with LT-specific springs and dampers. There’s also stiffer engine mounts, which should help reduce some of the vibration felt in the cabin. The car has a full-titanium, quad-exit exhaust.

The motorsport-inspired interior design features carbon fiber racing seats, carbon fiber center tunnel, exposed carbon fiber floor, and Alcantara upholstery throughout. McLaren is offering the car with the buyer’s choice of eight color schemes.

The light-weighting of the model has caused McLaren to remove many of the comfort and convenience features in the model, though the automaker is quick to point out that they can be added for a price. A standard 8-inch infotainment touch screen makes the cut, but an audio system, rearview camera, and park assist are options.

Just 765 individually numbered cars will be available to order globally. Pricing announced shortly. Deliveries will start in September.
