High performance tires shine on the track and the street. They’re equal parts athlete and lifestyle choice. The same is true for high performance sneakers. Two companies that know this as well as anyone are Puma and Pirelli, who have teamed up to create the Replicat-X 1.8 Pirelli.
According to a release, “The Replicat-X 1.8 Pirelli takes on the ferocity and form of a modern supercar, inspired by motorsports heritage, to transform it into the fastest footwear in the entire collection.”

This is not the first foray into a sport-inspired lifestyle sneaker for the apparel company. Puma’s design team regularly puts forth concepts influenced by sports including football, basketball, and golf.
The sneaker’s upper features layering making it more like a booty. Its kit is an “oversized” wraparound full rubber outsoul that features Pirelli’s unique Cinturato Blue tread pattern. This design gives the sneaker an obvious racing-inspired look. It also has a molded sock liner.
The new sneaker features a quick lacing system which the companies say is inspired by one of the most iconic turbo engines in motorsports history. The sneaker’s upper has a perforated mash vamp, with lateral mesh panels for breathability.
The PUMA Replicat-X 1.8 Pirelli is currently available in stores in PUMA Black-Luminous Purple-Sunny Lime, PUMA White-Peacoat-Limepunch and Gray Violet-Sunny Lime-Palace Blue. The men’s shoes retail for $120 and are available in U.S. sizes 7-14. The shoes are not sold in women’s sizes.
