The 11th generation Honda Civic in prototype form will be unveiled on Honda’s Head2Head Twitch channel on Tuesday, November 17. The broadcast will begin at 5 p.m. PST and the Civic will be revealed at 6:45 p.m. PST.
Honda Head2Head is the first and only automotive branded gaming channel on Twitch. The company, a subsidiary of Amazon, has been around for nearly a decade and has rapidly grown its audience in the last few years. As of 2018, Twitch had 27,000 partner channels. In September 2020, the streaming service had 7.46 million active streamers according to Statista. In the second quarter of this year, over 5 billion hours of programming was streamed on the service. On average, Twitch has 17.5 million daily visitors.
Honda is one of the auto manufacturers backing gaming and esports teams. The company is the exclusive automotive partner of Team Liquid and the Riot Games League of Legends Championship Series. Honda’s partnership with the Twitch channel makes them the exclusive auto-branded channel on the platform.
The reveal will feature Grammy-nominated ART@WAR/Atlantic Records recording artist, Cordae. It will be hosted by Rachel Seltzer and MonsterDface. The hosts will be joined by eight participants including four top Fortnite players and four top Twitch streamers (Benjyfishy, SypherPK, Jordan Fisher, and Dakotaz among others) who will battle it out in Fortnite.
Honda also will have presence on endemic gaming communities, including Twitter and Reddit, to support the reveal of the new Civic.
