This 1968 Ferrari 330 GT Coupé by Pininfarina has undergone over £30,000 in restoration work.

Next month, Silverstone Auctions will present The Race Retro Live Online Auction with a lot list full of classic cars, competition cars, and automobila. Among the list are a few standouts, including this 1968 Ferrari 330 GT Coupé by Pininfarina.

The Ferrari up for auction is from the last model year that the Italian company made the Ferrari 330. From 1963 to 1968, 330s were sold in a variety of roof and seating configurations but rang on the same 4.0-liter Columbo V12 engine. The engine was a remnant from the Ferrari 400 Superameria but was significantly altered for the 330 line. Models with a hard top are styled as “330 GTC” cars while cars with a ragtop are “330 GTS” models.

The ’68 Ferrari 330 that will cross the block was supplied to dealers in Verona, Italy in May 1968. It has been fully inspected for official Ferrari ‘Classiche Certification’, had its fee paid, and is awaiting the official Red Box.

This model comes from a loving home. From 2005 to 2017 it was the pride of one household and had over £30,000 spent on it during that time with JDR, TDH Classics and Hoyle-Fox. The car has been completely retrimmed including new boot carpet; a fresh headliner; freshened interior wood finishes, door cappings, and dashboard; rebuilt Borranis and carburettors; and re-chromed spinners. A new stainless steel exhaust has been fitted to the model, the brakes have been rebuilt, and the distributors were adjusted to suit the new electric ignition.

It wears a gleaming coat of Rosso Corsa paint and has a Nero interior.

“We are once again thrilled with the growing lot list we have consigned for our first sale of 2021,” said Gary Dunne, Silverstone Auctions Sales Controller. “The 1968 Ferrari 330 GT Coupé really is a credit and privilege to offer in our tenth year as the official auction partner for Race Retro!”

The Ferrari will be auctioned off on Saturday, March 27.
