Virtual learning is in full swing as schools adapt their curriculum plans and expectations in the wake of COVID-19. Many students are still struggling to find Wi-Fi, don’t have access to computers, and need software licenses to complete school work.
Toyota USA Foundation has approved nearly $3.5 million in grants to support students in 13 states where the company has operations.
The grants will go toward solving connectivity and computing challenges, helping more than 350,000 students access virtual learning.
“All students deserve equal access to education,” said Mike Goss, president, Toyota USA Foundation. “The foundation typically supports STEM, but the pandemic has exposed deeper issues that are a barrier to good education.”
Toyota has been committed to education throughout the pandemic. The company recently launched an education hub that includes virtual field trips of the company’s operations. That hub can be utilized regardless of a student’s location.
