“I used to live my life a quarter mile at a time,” Vin Diesel’s character narrates. Yes, we remember. And we liked it.
The first full-length trailer for “Fast and Furious 9” has dropped, continuing the saga that started 19 years ago. Known to F&F fanboys as “F9”, the new movie looks to carry over most of the themes that have made the franchise so popular – fast cars, beautiful landscapes, defeating evil with questionable techniques, and some family drama (including a resurrection).

From the opening to the trailer’s closing, the music sets the mood. Early in the trailer, Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” plays but as the action picks up, “Frequency 75” by DJ Snake takes over.
We see Diesel’s character Dom being chased by a bevy of bad guys with the action pausing just long enough for viewers to see Dom’s wife Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) land squarely on the windshield of the Dodge Charger Diesel is piloting.
From there, the trailer focuses on bringing up the rivalry between Dom and his brother Jakob (John Cena) as the two also fight Cipher (Charlize Theron).
Also, Han’s back. That was a surprise.
Along the way, there are some pretty slick cars driven, destroyed, and on display including the Charger, a rocket-powered Pontiac Fiero, Toyota Supra, a few BMWs, police cars, Jeep Gladiator, and Ford Mustang. There’s also airplanes, military convoy vehicles, buses, and Lamborghinis. Typical F&F stuff.
By the looks of the trailer. the plot line of “F9” brings along the series just far enough to create yet another need for yet another sequel. See all the action for yourself when it opens May 22.
