2021 Genesis G80 features and powertrains broken down by trim level

Genesis has introduced the next-gen G80 sedan.

Genesis has announced the starting price of the 2021 G80 will be competitive for its segment – $47,700. The car has been completely redesigned for the 2021 model year and will debut this summer.

There are 10 grades of the 2021 G80. All trim levels carry a destination fee of $1,025. Here’s how the Genesis models break down by trim level.

2021 Genesis G80 2.5T RWD Standard

Genesis is charging $47,700 for this sedan.

The base model GV80 comes standard with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It has an electric parking brake, multi-link front and rear suspension, integrated starter generator, ventilated front and rear disc brakes, and a drive mode selector.

It rides on standard 18-inch alloy wheels. There are LED daytime running lights, full-LED quad headlights, full-LED rear combination lamps, power-folding outside mirrors, and dual exhaust.

In its cabin, the five-seater features leatherette upholstery, 12-way power front seats the Smart Posture Care System, heated front seats, dual-memory seating, dual-zone climate control, piano black gloss trim, leatherette upper interior panels and door panels, adjustable ambient lighting, and a leather steering wheel.

There’s also keyless entry, remote start, a hands-free trunk, a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows with front and rear auto up and down, illuminated vanity mirrors with dual sun visor extensions, rearview camera, three USB ports, and two 12-volt power outlets.

The long list of standard technology includes high beam assist, forward collision avoidance with assist and pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction and lane change assist, evasive steering assist, smart cruise control, highway driving assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, blind spot collision avoidance, rear cross traffic alert and avoidance, safe exit assist, and front and rear park distance warning, auto defog, and rain-sensing wipers.

Each G80GV80 in this grade comes standard with a 14.5-inch infotainment touch screen, 12-speaker audio system, 8-inch driver information display, Bluetooth, AM/FM/XM Radio, HD radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

2021 Genesis G80 2.5T RWD Advanced

Genesis is charging $52,300 for this tier G80, which builds on the Standard model. It adds 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the standard 18-inchers. There’s also a premium 21-inch Lexicon auto system, a panoramic roof, matte finish wood trim, ventilated front seats, power and manual rear side shades, tri-zone climate control, and a power trunk.

The Prestige model moves the G80 into true luxury car territory. It starts at $56,600 and features leather seating, a power door closing feature, wireless device charging, digital key, rear occupant alert, an Ergo Motion Driver’s Seat, front passenger seat walk-in device, surround view monitor, blind spot monitoring, remote smart parking assist, parking rear collision-avoidance, a power driver’s seat bolster and cushion extension, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.

This base model version of the G80 adds all-wheel drive and a few other features, coming in at $50,850. It has heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.

Genesis has priced the model starting at $55,450. It includes 19-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, a 21-speaker Lexicon Premium Audio system, matte finish wood trim, power rear shade, manual rear side side shades, power trunk, tri-zone climate control, panoramic roof, and ventilated front seats.

Upping to the Prestige trim level gets buyers all the benefits of the Advanced model plus leather seats, power door closures, wireless charging, digital key, rear occupant alert, front passenger seat walk-in device, Ergo Motion driver’s seat, surround view monitor, blind spot monitor, remote parking assistant, rear parking collision avoidance assist, and a power driver’s seat bolster and cushion extension. This model is priced at $59,150.

This version fo the Genesis G80 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that puts out 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, has an electronically controlled suspension with Road Preview, and Monobloc front brakes.

Owners also get a panoramic roof, power trunk, power door closure, digital key, matte wood trim, power rear and manual rear sunshades, leather seats, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, trim-zone climate control, rear occupant alert, and a 21-speaker Lexicon Premium Audio system.

The car is priced starting at $59,100.

2021 Genesis G80 3.5T RWD Prestige

Upgrading to the Prestige trim gets all the Standard grade content plus 20-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, Nappa leather seating surfaces, microfiber suede headliner and pillars, front passenger walk-in device, power bolster and cushion extension, Ergo Motion driver’s seat, blind spot monitor, remote smart parking assist, parking collision-avoidance assist, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, head-up display, three-in-one 3D digital instrument cluster, forward attention warning, and surround view monitor.

The $62,250 model includes all above-referenced G80 3.5T RWD Standard content plus heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. It features all-wheel drive.

The G80 Prestige goes for $67,650 making it the priciest model in the Genesis G80 lineup. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, leather seats, microfiber suede headliner and pillars, front passenger seat walk-in device, Ergo Motion driver’s seat, surround view monitor, blind spot monitor, remote parking assistant, rear parking collision avoidance assist, head up display, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, froward attention warning, and a power driver’s seat bolster and cushion extension.
