Toyota brings back Land Cruiser Heritage Edition, adding more options, for 2021

Toyota continues to celebrate the history of the Land Cruiser with its Heritage Edition of the SUV. The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition is a carry over from the 2020 model year but has some added enhancements for 2021.

Two new exterior colors join the mix for 2021. In addition to Classic Silver Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic paint jobs, customers can order their special edition in Midnight Black Metallic and Blizzard Pearl. The paint jobs are accented by a grille with black features and bronze-colored BBS 18 x 8.0-inch forged aluminum wheels featuring a “TOYOTA” center cap.

The body-on-frame model will continue to be powered by Toyota’s thirsty 5.7-liter V8 engine, which produces 401 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota has given the off-roading capable model full-time four-wheel drive. Additionally, it gets Downhill Assist Control, Hill Start Assist, CRAWL Control, and Off-Road Turn Assist standard. There are also skid plates to protect the suspension, radiator, fuel tank, and transfer case. Multi-Terrain Monitor allows for 360-degree visibility of the model’s surroundings.

When equipped with the standard Trailer Towing Package, the Land Cruiser can pull a trailer up to 8,100 pounds.

The list of standard features is long and includes ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping and memory, power moonroof, four-zone automatic climate control with 28 cabin air vents, keyless entry, and push-button start. It also a 14-speaker JBL stereo system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and wireless charging.

Toyota equips each model with its Toyota Safety Sense P suite of technology. It features lane departure alert a vehicle sway warning system, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Additionally, the SUV has standard blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

Buyers are now able to choose between a two- or three-row version of the SUV. The two-row will be the base model while the three-row will be available for a premium.

Toyota has priced the two-row Land Cruiser Heritage Edition to start at $87,845. Pricing for the three-row model will be announced closer the the SUV’s on-sale date. Production will begin in September.

The traditional 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser starts at $85,515.
