2021 Volkswagen Atlas features and powertrains broken down by trim level

Volkswagen has announced the starting price of the 2021 Atlas will be unchanged from the 2020 model year – $31,545. The SUV is significantly refreshed for the new model year and features numerous upgrades and enhancements.

There are nine grades of the 2021 Atlas. All trim levels carry a destination fee of $1,020. Here’s how they break down by trim level.

2021 Volkswagen Atlas S

The front-wheel drive Atlas S starts at $31,545 and features a four-cylinder turbocharged and direct-injection 2.0-liter TSI engine. The all-whzeel drive variant, the Atlas S 4Motion starts at $33,445.

Standard features include: 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels; LED headlights, daytime running lights and taillights; rain-sensing wipers; heated side mirrors; cloth seating surfaces; auto-dimming rearview mirror; LED interior lighting; a 6.5-inch infotainment touch screen, App-Connect and Bluetooth connectivity for compatible devices; and a rearview camera. Standard driver-assistance features include Front Assist and blind spot monitoring.

The SE trim builds on the offerings of the S grade and starts at $34,895 for the front-wheel drive model. The Atlas SE 4Motionn runs $36,795.

Standard features include: 18-inch machined wheels; keyless entry; leatherette seating surfaces; 10-way power driver’s seat; heated front seats; tri-zone automatic climate control; an 8.0-inch infotainment touch screen, SiriusXM satellite radio (with three-month trial); wireless charging for compatible devices; two front and two rear USB ports plus one in the center console (for charging only); and a power liftgate.

Volkswagen is pricing the 2021 Atlas SE with Technology at $36,895 to start for the 2.0-liter turbo-four models, and $38,295 for Atlases with the V6. All-wheel drive adds $1,900 to both powertrain options.

Standard features include: 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels; a hands-free rear liftgate; remote start; and 115-volt power outlet in the second row. Standard driver-assistance features include front and rear park distance control and adaptive cruise control) with stop and go functionality.

The Atlas SE with Technology R-Line models build on the previous trim with additional R-Line content. Volkswagen has priced them to starts at $39,695 for the V6 with front-wheel drive, and $41,595 for the available all-wheel drive model.

Standard R-Line features include: 20-inch twin five-spoke alloy wheels in a dark graphite color, black accented R-Line bumpers, signature R-Line badging, and stainless-steel pedal caps.

The Atlas SEL starts about $11,000 more than the base model at $42,295 for the V6 front-wheel drive variant and $42,395 for the four-cylinder all-wheel drive Atlas.

It builds on the SEL models build on the features of SE with Technology models and comes standard with LED headlights with an adaptive front-lighting; silver roof rails; driver’s seat memory function; 8-way power passenger seat; Volkswagen Digital Cockpit; an infotainment system with navigation; panoramic sunroof; and the V6 Towing Package. Standard driver-assistance features include lane assist, traffic jam assist, and dynamic road sign display.

The SEL R-Line adds R-Line content to the SEL trim level. Its MSRP starts at $43,995 for the V6 with front-wheel drive and $45,895 for the V6 with all-wheel drive model.

Standard features include: 21-inch machined wheels; black accented R-Line bumpers; signature R-Line badging; and stainless-steel pedal caps.

The Atlas SEL Premium, builds on the SEL rather than the SEL R-Line. It starts at $47,195 for the four-cylinder model and is $48,995 for the V6 model.

Standard features include: All-wheel drive with torque vectoring technology; 20-inch machined wheels; leather seats; ventilated/heated front seats and heated rear seats; ambient lighting and a Fender audio system. Standard driver-assistance features include park assist and an area view camera.

2021 Volkswagen Atlas SEL Premium R-Line

SEL Premium R-Line is the top-tier model in the Atlas lineup. It biuilds on the SEL R-Line model and has a starting price of $50,695 when equipped with a V6 engine and all-wheel drive.

Standard R-Line content includes: 21-inch machined wheels; black accented R-Line bumpers; signature R-Line badging; and stainless-steel pedal caps.
