British sportscar manufacturer Ginetta is opening a U.S. headquarters in Virginia.

British motorsport brand Ginetta has launched a new U.S. operation. Ginetta North America marks the first time that the company will be able to support its North American customer base with a sales, distribution, manufacturing, and engineering center. The U.S. base for the company will be in South Boston, Virginia.

The location, halfway between Lynchburg, Virginia and Raleigh, North Carolina, is the site of TMI Auto Tech, a low volume sportswear manufacturer that was acquired by the brand.

Ginetta

Founded in 1958 by the Walklett Brothers, Ginetta has a strong racing history. It was acquired by Le Mans champion and serial entrepreneur Lawrence Tomlinson in 2005. Since then, the company has evolved to making vehicles and coaching about 140 promising racers each year. The alumni list includes W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and Formula One star Lando Norris.

“I am delighted to announce this very exciting development for Ginetta. The US is one of the major markets in global motorsport and one where I know from my own racing experiences that the tradition and passion for racing runs deep.” Commented Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman Ginetta.

“We have a loyal customer base in the Americas that we have supported up until now from our HQ in England. With the creation of Ginetta North America, we will be able to provide our North American customers with a whole new level of support and service on the ground here in the US. This will also enable us to significantly expand our brand and customer base in the US, Canada and Mexico, which is a key pillar in our global growth plan. I am pleased to report it is already happening, with orders and new U.S. sales agents developing fast, the details of which we will be announcing in the near future.”

Tomlinson leads a precise engineering, design, and manufacturing process for all Ginetta products. The company refers to each of their cars as “thoroughbreds”, with the same design team that creates the LMP3 and LMP1 cars developing the Ginetta GT cars.

Ginetta North America’s 60,000 sq/ft facility in Halifax County is complete with in-house engineering, machining, fabrication, assembly, warehousing, sales, and marketing space.
