The Kia Stinger has gotten exterior and interior upgrades for the 2021 model year.

The Kia Stinger fastback car has long been billed as a sports sedan and for the 2021 model year, Kia is kicking its Stinger into high gear. The 2021 Kia Stinger gets a design refresh and new driver assist and safety features, as well as a new exhaust tone.

Kia previously revealed the exterior of the 2021 Stinger, complete with a fresh, K5-inspired nose and checkered flag taillights.

It will retain its twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine that now delivers an upgraded 367 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Kia has changed the car’s exhaust note by instituting a new Electronic Variable Exhaust Valve. This butterfly valve opens and closes to produce a more prominent, deeper exhaust note in Sport driving modes, or a quieter, more subdued exhaust note in Eco or Comfort mode. The engine continues to be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, a new, available 10.25-inch infotainment touch screen takes center stage on the dashboard on most models. The widescreen system allows for two phones to be connected to Bluetooth at the same time. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice control.

The Stinger comes standard with a new 8.0-inch infotainment touch screen that replaces the 7.0-inch in the 2020 model. A 4.2-inch color-TFT LCD cluster replaces the previous 3.5-incher. A 7.0-inch “Supervision” cluster is available, delivering more vivid graphics and a host of additional information to the driver.

Additionally, the car is connected to Kia’s UVO app, which allows for a variety of functions including remote engine start and seat ventilation and heating functionality.

Kia has given the model additional and enhanced advanced driver assistance and safety technology. There’s a new blind spot view monitor, as seen in the 2020 Kia Telluride, safe exit assist, lane following assist, and rear occupant alert, as well as upgraded forward collision avoidance, lane keeping, and blind spot collision avoidance assist. Additional technology is available in other markets.

The new Kia Stinger will go on-sale in Korea during the third quarter of 2020, with sales in global markets commencing later this year.
