2021 Ford Bronco Overland concept tames the overloading experience

The Ford Bronco Overland concept shows off some accessories from Ford's forthcoming lineup.

The wait for the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport to begin arriving in driveways is almost over. And as we get closer, the Bronco and Bronco Sport is starting to make more and more news. Last week is was announced that the company is sponsoring three Bronco Sport models in the Rebelle Rally. Now comes word that the company has designed a new concept vehicle with the outdoors in mind.

The 2021 Ford Bronco Overland concept has debuted at the Bronco Super Celebration East in Townsend, Tennessee. The concept will be on display at the off-roading event alongside Bronco two-door and Bronco Sport 4×4 models.

With personalization in focus, the Bronco Overland concept was created using factory-backed accessories. Ford has already announced that over 200 accessories are coming to their product line for use with the Bronco.

The model is based on a 2021 Bronco four-door Badlands. It’s painted with an Area 51 color scheme ad has the High-Performance Off-road Stability Suspension (H.O.S.S.) System with Bilstein position-sensitive dampers. Under the hood is Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that is paired with a seven-sped manual transmission. It rides on 17-inch Fifteen52 Turbomatic heavy-duty wheels in asphalt black that are wrapped with 35-inch BF Goodrich LT315/70R-17 mud-terrain KM3 tires.

The front of the Bronco Overland features a Ford Performance by Warn winch that is mounted to a Ford Performance modular steel bumper. Up top its a two-person tent by Yakima and a factory roof rack, which are mounted to the roof rails alongside a 1×40 Rigid Industries rack-mounted light bar and six Rigid pod lights that illuminate the Bronco 360 degrees. A tall CB antenna is mounted to the rear bumper.

The Bronco Overland is designed to serve as a full-on base camp. It comes complete with an ARB refrigerator and cooking kit and stove, which are mounted to a cargo management system. The fridge features a slide-out tray for easy access. A tailgate table and chairs area also included.

The rear quarter window glass has rigid panels with MOLLE grids mounted inside for additional rear cargo area storage.
