Vehicles enabled with AcuraLink and HondaLink are now able to give owners feedback on their driving habits – free of charge. In fact, it may actually save you some money.
The new Driver Feedback app-based feature can provide vehicle sensor-based driving score. The scores are designed to encourage better, more fuel-efficient driving techniques by giving drivers insights into their behind-the-wheel behaviors that have a proven correlation with insurance claims, including crash occurrences.
Drivers of the current-generation Acura RDX are eligible to participate in the program.

Components of the drive experience that are analyzed include smooth driving (smooth accelerations and gentle braking), speed responsibility (speed and fuel economy), consistent driving (time of driving each day – commuters are less likely to crash when they travel at the same time each day), driving time (what hours driving takes place, avoiding risky driving hours), and time behind the wheel (there is a correlation between time behind-the-wheel and the average likelihood of being involved in a crash).
The feature is powered by Verisk Analytics. When customers agree to the program’s terms, Verisk will analyze the data the vehicle’s sensors provides and push a driving score to the owner’s app.
According to Verisk’s analysis of driving behaviors and insurance risk, the lowest scoring drivers are seven times more likely to be involved in a crash or have an insurance claim than those with the highest scores.
Those who are eligible for the program include owners who have ever signed up for a complementary trial trial or subscribed to any AcuraLink or HondaLink package.
